I hope this finds you’re all well indeed! I want to take a moment to say a huge thank you for your support of the International Clean Language Association, especially to our Founding Members.
I’m sorry for not keeping you in the loop about ICLA developments. The interim board has been so wrapped up in our projects that we’ve let communication slip. I get that this might make us look like the proverbial duck calmly gliding on the surface while we’re actually paddling away like mad underneath!
Let me give you a quick update on what’s happening and how you can lend a hand.
- We’ve got a fantastic interim board (thank you!) consisting of:
- Søren Holm
- Gina Campbell
- Tania Korsak
- James Ramirez
- Azi Khatiri
- Helle Browne
- Sharon Small
- Plus, Angela Dunbar who is giving us a boost with web development.
- We’ve got our by-laws and articles of incorporation sorted, along with an online system for accepting members and membership fees. We’ve also kicked off a basic website (www.cleanlanguageassociation.com).
- Several committees are now diving into specific areas of the association:
- governance
- communications and marketing,
- resources,
- member support
- website.
- We’ve also got loads of exciting ideas for the future!
We’d be thrilled if you could join any of the committees. Whether you can spare a little or a lot of time, your contribution would be hugely valued.
One challenge we’re facing is that our initial plan to operate as an unincorporated association in the UK isn’t going to work. We need to incorporate ICLA in some form, but the bureaucracy is quite a maze to navigate. If you or someone you know has expertise in this area, we’d be incredibly grateful for your assistance.
We always love hearing from you and please check in on the website for developments in the member resource-area.
For ICLA,
Søren Holm
